Can't we hear all the words from Gordon Ramsey? Can't we have a button to push "ok to hear the F word no kids around". Every body knows what the words are that they are bleeping... Come on FCC... Let's do it.

perhaps, but it is very important to hear the swear words. John Stewart would be so much funnier without the beep so well timed we can hear the first syllable to get which word he went with.

I agree. We just need all the fuddy duddies to die off first.

Kids are most likely hearing (and using) these words with their friends anyway.
The last time I was around my 10 yr. old nephew at a family gathering, he got excited about something while talking with one of his friends and let the S word slip out. He got real quiet and and no one acknowledged what he had said, so he continued on with his story (this was with several conversations going on between multiple people at the same time, so I don't think anyone else caught it).
    I thought it was funny.

Then watch some of his older BBC shows. He's actually nice, helpful and somewhat insightful.

His swear filled rants are just an act for American television.

Sorry. I plan on being around for awhile, and I can do without them. Same for my son and daughter, and my three grandkids.

Thus it should be in the Coffee House, and not in a Tivo related area.

There was one Daily Show last week where they didn't bleep out the word "sh*t" like 30-something times. I'm not sure if it was on accident or not, but I would tend to guess not.

I refer to that Daily Show as the South Park episode since they also had a show where they used the same word over a hundred times.

I am tired of the blue noses of the world protecting their children at the expense of people who like to have their entertainment uncensored. What is the kid doing up that late or watching your Tivo unsupervised?

I always wonder too what exactly people fear will happen to children if they are exposed to words that are ordinarily censored on TV.

I think that the thing that people fear the most is feeling the discomfort or embarrassment involved in having to explain what a "bad" word means.

I understand that that the bleeps are put in only in the U.S. version of the shows. You get his unedited tirade in the U.K. and other countries.

Funny that in addition to bleeping the audio, they also fuzz the speaker's mouth in the video, so you can't read lips. Maybe that is so deaf children won't be traumatized

I looked further into this and I remember the FCC had all TV manufactures install the V-Chip in every TV 13" or larger after 1999. So why could we not use the setting "TV-MA" (Mature audiences) on Gordon Ramsey? You need a pass code to view this channel.

Here's the FCC link on the Vchip http://transition.fcc.gov/vchip/
