Can't update Software - adapter problem

    I just bought a Wireless adapter DWL-G122 and I'm trying to install it. It wont read the adapter. The TIVO software that I currently have is 5.0 something or another. And is it possible that the reason TIVO wont recognize my adapter because I do not have the 7.2 software? I can't connect to download it with the phone line - what can i do?

    Did you add the ,#401 to the phone dialing prefix?

    jnoggle, have you completed the guided setup yet? The ,#401 prefix will only work with a wired adaptor and not a wireless. Do you have access to a phone line at all? If so, and you haven't completed guided setup, then you should run through guided setup with the phone line.

    For your adaptor, you need the ver A2 because the ver B1 will not work with TiVo. Also, A2 requires the 7.1 or later TiVo software.

    Either way it looks like you have to get to a phone line to complete the setup and/or update to the 7.2.1 software so that you can use your adaptor (provided it is A2 and not B1).
