Can't see other Tivo on NPL

Phillips DSR7000 (two of them hacked) running 6.2 sw, networking, the works.
Forgive me I'm at work and don't know all the particulars off the top of my head.

I will provide more when I get in front of them..

I recently set up remote access and went from DHCP to static IPs. It all worked great but now they wont talk to each other. Does setting up remote access somehow disable or screw up the ability to see the other unit?
