Cannot load Desktop Plus 2.8.1 on Windows 7/64 bit

    When I try to install Tivo Desktop (I hold a "Plus" license), I get a dialog box during install that says "An internal error has occurred". I click OK and get no other errors during the install.

    When I try to run the program, I get the same Dialog. I have reverted back to 2.8 for now...

    I'm having the same problem. I tried removing and reinstalling but still get the internal error.

    Desktop is up to version 2.8.2 (at least). I think you have to download it manually from the TiVo web site (rather than using the update in the menu system). Try the latest version.

    Sounds like a good time to abandon Desktop Plus and give pytivo a try! Far more functionality.

    Try uninstalling it with the Remove All option. Then download, unzip and run the cleaner to remove anything that an older version may have left behind before installing the latest version of Desktop.
