Can you use 1 RF Remote to control 2 Tivo's at the same time by RF (not IR)?

I have a Roamio OTA and have a Mini Version 2 coming soon. I want to use 1 remote to control just the Mini (by RF) and the 2nd remote to control both tivo's at the same time (by RF). Can it be done?

At the same time? Or did you mean by sliding a switch?

If you really meant at the same time, I suppose you could set both TiVo's up on the same ID, but then they'd never be able to be operated separately via RF.

If you meant by switch, the standard remote doesn't have one.

This thread is pretty old, but I thought I'd chirp in that I do control a single Mini with two separate RF remotes.

I want to control both mini's at the same time with the same RF signal. So when I'm watching football and I watch replays the 2nd tv will stay in the same exact spot as the primary.

If I can, how do I go about doing that? Thanks :)

Thanks... Now i have a new scenario. I would like to use the same control as RF for the mini in another room and IR to the Roamio. Can this be done?

    Yes, with caveats...
    • You can't control both TiVo devices simultaneously
    • Remote must be toggled between RF & IR mode
    • RF control dependent on range
    • IR control dependent on line-of-sight
    • May require programming distinct non-0 IR remote addresses for each TiVo
