Before I go out to the garage to dig out my Tivo Series 1 (Sony SVR2000) remote I wanted to ask you all if it should work w/ my new HD unit?

    This is the actual remote:

I really like that remote, and hope it can work w/ the HD.

Also, I just noticed on the image that it has a LIST button...but the remote that ships with the Tivo HD does not. That makes me think I may be in trouble.

On the Harmony remote the "list" feature gives you the now playing list... I like that.. it will probably do the same on yours if it works..

I don't think that remote is going to work for you. The Sony remotes use different codes than the Series1 Philips and Hughes models.

Arrggghh. You are right. I just found the remote, and tried it ...no go.

Damn, I love this remote! It feels way better then the stock HD remote.

Why? Fresh batteries can't change remote command frequencies.

Sony TiVo remotes will not work with non-Sony TiVos - and non-Sony TiVo remotes will not work with Sony TiVos. Period.

I know that, but he said he found it in storage and it didn't work. If he didn't put new batteries in at least to check.
