I have gotten backup DTV standard and HD Tivo units for myself and my wife and my wifes DTV R10 dvr is beginning to glitch. She wants to replace her dvr with one of the newer ones I have purchased but she has about 30 recorded programs on her old unit and wants to know if she can watch them after the access card has been put into the new unit. So, is the hard drive still accessible to watch the already recorded programs from her old Tivo?

There's no need to remove the access card from the old unit as the new unit will come with its own. Shows can still be watched after the unit is deactivated, but then there's no reason to deactivate it as long is it hangs in there.
