    PS. Sorta....

Could this be a problem with Python. I'm running 3.5.2. I think I saw something once about not using any version above 2.7 or below 2.4!

I think you nailed it! Below is a quote taken from the pytivo sourceforge wiki

"Note: pyTivo does not work with Python 2.4 and below, nor 3.0 and above."

Windows Install - pyTivo - Wiki

FYI, I'm running Python 2.7.13, and pyTivo Desktop is working well.

I had the same white screen problem and got around it by installing it under c:/pytivo instead of the default path.

I just fixed this in the newest build and where it was installed had nothing to do with it. There were two problems...

    1) The installer was designed to create the conf file, but it wasn't creating the folder in appdata where the file is stored so the creation routine was failing. This resulted in pyTivo Desktop popping up the settings dialog on first launch because it didn't have a proper MAK. which leads to problem 2....

    2) There was a bug in the code that was throwing an exception when the TiVo list at the bottom of the settings was empty. This basically crashed the Desktop app and caused the white screen.

I was under the impression that the desktop tools (pytivo, etc.) could no longer "push" to TiVo. I thought it was because the latest TiVo software versions removed the hooks that were needed to do this.

As I remember, the only option was to publish your files and TiVo could "pull" them manually, one by one.

That is correct. The push feature required cooperation on TiVo's end. It was basically a trick where you would send a request to TiVo's servers and it would send a command to your TiVo that would tell it to pull from your pyTivo share. TiVo disabled that server command over a year ago. So now your only option is to go to the TiVo itself and pull from the pyTivo share manually.

I'm using pyTivo Desktop with my Tivo Bolt.
I have my personal converted shows in my share folder on my mac. Pytivo sees my Bolt but how do I upload my shows to the Tivo?
I don't see any share folder or anything in the Tivo.
    Am I missing something?

Are you using the old UI? If so the pyTivo shares should be in the "Devices" section or at the very bottom of "All".

If you're using the new Hydra UI then they wont show at all as TiVo disabled the feature.
