    Question:

If I put one of my Roamios onto a new TiVo account, thereby getting a new Media Access Key, will my Cable Card pairing get wiped?:fearscream: In other words, does the MAK have anything to do with generating Data or Host ID numbers?

The MAK shouldn't have anything to do with pairing. Note that TiVos need to be on the same account/MAK in order to share recordings and/or tuners. An account can support up to 12 devices.

Thanks @snerd, but "Shouldn't", I already assumed... I need to be 100% sure. And, yes, of course I know that TiVos/Minis need to be on the same acct/MAK to "see each-other".

Nobody can be 100% sure unless they've tried it and it worked. I'm not 100% sure what hoops TiVo jumps through when you change the MAK. I wouldn't expect it to impact anything non-TiVo-service related, but you never know what goofy choices the programmers might have made...

Exactly. I'm hoping someone (out of the 100's of 1000's of users here) has, and sees this thread.

The cable card is tied to the cable account (yours) and needs to be unpaired before moving to another account (hers).
The MAK is a Tivo account authorization between devices (yours) and would change when they are moved to another account (hers).

That, I knew. That is the desired result.

    I think there's a misunderstanding here. MYOFB!

I think it would be going to another cable account, since the cable bill is tied to 1 address. Otherwise, it could be considered stealing cable service and both homes would get disconnected.

Well @snerd, I'm the 1 of the 100's of 1000's of users here who's done it. I can attest to the fact that our initial mutual assumption was absolutely correct.
After transferring ownership and forcing a connection twice (the first didn't pick up the new MAK, the second, after changing the device Name) successfully got the MAK and new name. All recordings remain along with settings and CC PAIRING.
Nothing changed besides the MAK and Name.:up::tonguewink::sunglasses:
