I just spoke with Optimum's corporate office regarding my FCC complaint.

They informed me that there has been a software issue since 8/4/19 and that NO CABLE CARDS CAN BE BOUND until it is resolved.

There is no estimated date when this will be fixed. It is a 3rd party software provider.

Now if that doesn't prove they are at war with cable cards, I don't know what will.

I just rebound a cable card last night with the online chat support, so it can definitely be done.

I just called Optimum's Corporate Executive Customer Relations, they confirmed that binding still does not work and they do not have a date when it will be resolved.

    I am in Westchester, NY.

I would followup your FCC complaint and if that is not possible file another one. I would also suggest that you demand a refund for the period of non-service.
They are clearly in violation of current FCC regulations.

I did follow-up with the FCC.
We'll see if that helps but I doubt it.
Obviously they don't care that Optimum is in violation.

To tell you the truth I have pretty much had it with Cable & Tivo.
I don't trust this approach any more.

I am researching streaming devices and services.
Looks like the Apple TV device combined with the Fubo service will work for me.

    No. Still a problem.

Testing out Apple TV device and Fubo streaming.
So far looks like an improved replacement.

Crap. I am up in Dutchess. Hopefully I won't need to change a cable card anytime soon. If all that is on the SDV is Cinemax I will be fine. Haven't had that channel in years.

Hope you get it resolved soon.

Also the Starz Comedy Channel. A field supervisor told me they will be adding more channels in the future.

All came back once I put in their tuning adapter.

We have a working Tivo with cablecard on Optimum right now. My roommate is moving out, and I am making a new account in my name so I can get a promo. Will I be able to use the same cablecard we are using right now without any "binding" issues, or will that cablecard somehow have to be bound to the new account (which optimum seems unable to do so at this point). I understand that I will have to return the existing cablecard at some point as it is tied to the old account, but I can use it for a while until cablevision fixes their issues.

I doubt the "cable card" people talk to the "account people". You should be safe unless you decide to change services, like adding/subtracting something like HBO. As for the "promo", just hope the provisioning of the card doesn't make them have to make changes to your card.

Any idea how many tuners your tuning adapter has? Apparently the one they gave me only has two tuners. I have three Tivo Minis connected to my Bolt (which has four tuner), so the Optimum-issued Tuning Adapter is leaving me two tuners short. If you have four or more tuners on your tuning adapter, please provide the brand name and model number so I can direct the people at the Optimum store. Thanks.

My Bolt has 6 tuners. Frankly, I have no info on the number of tuners in the adapter. I seem to recall someone in the store saying 4 but not certain of that. The Tivo information page (https://support.tivo.com/articles/FAQ/How-Switched-Digital-Video-Impacts-Me-FAQ) says nothing at all about the number of tuners. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

If you get a chance, please post the brand and model number of your tuning adapter. I will see if it is the same as mine.

It's the Cisco STA-1520. Could not find anything online from Cisco but, if you have this one, you may want to read here - https://support.tivo.com/articles/FAQ/How-Switched-Digital-Video-Impacts-Me-FAQ - as several posts indicate it supports 6 tuners.
