What do you think about the turning a phone into a hotspot and trying to connect. Perhaps the Google Wi-Fi is blocking something?

I have Google Wifi -- called their support. I was told to go in and use port forwarding to open ports 37 and 123. Looking at the app, both 37 and 123 appear to be open. I'll call them again now to make sure that I didn't do something incorrectly. If I test the ports on the system check, everything passes -- it fails on the connection step.

It's certainly worth a try -- let me see what will happen. Be right back...at some point...

Here's how it looks from my location:
    Code:
    C:\>w32tm /monitor /computers:129.6.15.27,129.6.15.28,132.163.96.4,132.163.97.1
    129.6.15.27[129.6.15.27:123]:

Reverse name resolution is best effort. It may not be
correct since RefID field in time packets differs across

As I understand it, ntpdate uses port 123, if it fails rdate is invoked which uses port 37. In Greg's case, both NTP commands fail. You are correct that port 37 blocking alone doesn't stop it BUT if both ports 123 AND 37 are blocked, you are dead in the water.

Since it's a Premiere, what are you using for wireless?

In 2012 I bought the box and a Tivo Wireless N Adapter.

I'm tempted to connect my wireless N, but not today. I also have a wireless G. At this time my Premiere (and two Roamio boxes) use a Netgear EX7000. But as you know, they think they are using Ethernet. I'm hoping this did work with your network at one time.

Yes -- no problem prior to this horrible mess. Talking to Google Wifi now. Glad

Had a very good and helpful experience at Google Wifi. No fix yet, but testing shows that ports 123/37 are indeed closed as far as the outside world is concerned. Waiting for someone to figure out to reconcile things.

Outstanding! Last week my ISP blocked TiVo.com. I'm not kidding. Can not reach TiVo from any internet connected device

Did you try turning the phone into hotspot and connecting yet? That'll tell you for sure if it's TiVo or Google Wi-Fi

I did not try it yet -- I was on the phone with Google Wifi, trouble-shooting for an hour and a half, and then the family returned home. I am not at home today, unfortunately.

I'm new here. Just looked at all these posts because I have the exact same problem. Bought a new router a couple months ago but I think it was connecting to my TiVo at first based on the date of the last update that was listed. Now it's not been connecting and I finally lost all guide info. Ethernet and wifi through my netgear router didn't work. I just used the phone hot spot suggestion and it WORKED!! Maybe not a permanent fix, but it's progress. Thx Bill/rdrrepair! (Skol!)

I talked to my isp today- they are a small company, so it's easy to actually get someone who will help. They do not block any ports, so he and I concluded they are not the problem. I have come to the conclusion that my Netgear router and my TiVo Roamio (together?) are the problem. Not the isp as TiVo chat initially told me. My old linksys router, though slow, never had this issue. One suspect eliminated.

I'm using a Netgear R8000. I have used virtually every router with a lower number. What model is giving you a problem? Have you disabled IGMP Proxying? It's under Advanced, Setup, WAN Setup.

I also disable QoS. I'm not in competition with myself. :)
