This would be super hot if you could use this towards a current activation. I would love to get this DT for my bedroom... Bummer on the gift card. Still a hot deal.

Apparently this IS a hot deal, as the S2 Dual Tuner is #4 on the Amazon Electronics rankings out of nowhere.

But how much did you pay for it?

This deal from Amazon is effectively a *free* 80-hour S2DT. You pay $99 - but get $100 credit toward service, and you have to buy service anyway.

This is no big mystery. You get the box and the $100 Service Card for $99 total.

Sign up the DT for 3yrs @6.95 and use the $100 Card to pay for the first 100/6.95 months.

From Amazon: A TiVo Service Gift Card can be redeemed towards any new service plan activation. TiVo Service Gift Cards may be applied only to new activations of any TiVo service-only subscriptions available at the time of gift card redemption. TiVo service pricing and terms and conditions subject to change without notice. See TiVo gift card terms and conditions for details.

From Tivo Web Site: TiVo® Service Gift Cards may be used in connection with the multi-service discount, if applicable, and as permitted by and subject to the terms and conditions of the multi-service discount.

Is Tivo saying that transferred service is not a new subscription even though it is on a new machine? How then would it at all be possible to "be used in conjunction with the multi-service discount?
