The new arc of the Buffy Season 8 comic series starts this week, starring Faith and written by comic book superstar and new Lost writer Brian K. Vaughan!

As a special bonus, JUST FOR YOU AND YOU ALONE, Joss Whedon is writing a free web comic (the first two monthly installments are up) called Sugarshock, a sci-fi epic about a struggling rock band, their pet robot, government conspiracies, intergalactic Battles of the Bands (well, Battle, anyway), and why Abe Lincoln REALLY freed the slaves.

Oh, Joss, please don't get committed just yet. Or if you do, try to land in an institution with a word processor and an internet connection.

At least, not until you explain why Dandelion hates Vikings...

Are the Buffy comics available online (legally) somewhere?

    Nope.

There will be a collected edition of the first arc in about a month (currently scheduled for October 10, but Dark Horse is notorious for shipping late).

I'll have to visit my local comic book shop to get all six. Maybe I'll wait till the first anthology is released.

...and the collections are usually in B&Ns, too...
