I had a brownout yesterday after a power failure and during the minute or so during which the lights came back on but at “half” power, I could hear the HR10-250 just clicking. When the power came fully back the TIVO didn’t. No lights, nothing. Tried different sockets but the TIVO is confirmed dead.

Anyone know what actually happened inside the unit based on the “clicking”?

DTV is sending a free HR20 under the Protection Plan but I hate throwing away my beloved HR10-250.

Is it repairable, and by whom and at what cost?

And get a UPS for the new units. That will protect you from future brownouts.

I hate +1's but this deserves it. even if you got your unit free, it's worth even a cheapo 30 dollar one to save your stuff.
