I don't want to see naked women on the throne, either.
I heard the same complaints from the new NCIS spinoff in here yet it's one of the most popular shows on TV. I know I'll watch the new show since it has nothing to do with bones and we don't have to see bodies all cut up each week like all the other cop shows on nowdays.
The cutting up of bodies is getting real old and gory on TV these days, it's much worse than violence.
Yeah, I agree. But you know what? That's FOX. They pander to a very specific audience. While many of their shows (ie, Bones) have a wider appeal, their target audience tends to be a younger, baudier crowd who like raunch. Certainly not my taste - and in fact I HATE that an over the air network broadcasts some of the stuff they do - but I guess the FCC is okay with it - and it does make money for them.
The main complaint I had about it was that I was in the mood for an episode of Bones so that is what I started watching, and the new stuff just had a totally different feel to it. With the NCIS and CSI backdoor pilots, at least the show they were spinning off had the same sort of feel to it.
That being said, I will probably still try out the new show. I try out pretty much anything that looks interesting.
Wow. You must be be more sensitive to this sort of stuff than I am, because I can't think of a single show on the FOX schedule right now that would merit this type of disdain.
While I've never watched any of them, I've seen the teasers for their animated series and it seems that raunch and mean spirited "humor" is the basis for most of them. But yeah, maybe I just miss the old days to some extent
Never knew until now that she's a Brit. Wish she would dial back the accent a bit, though.
That was so bad I blocked it from my memory.
To be fair, though, I'm convinced that there was some sort of behind-the-scenes issues that lead to that conclusion. Zack had left and come back in a very awkward fashion the season before (going to Iraq for not even a whole episode!) and it looked to me like the writers trying to write him out and him changing his mind to come back. The second time they decided to write him out, they did it in such a way that he couldn't return, ever. It was vicious. It makes no sense in context of the series. So I'm convinced it had to do with the actor and someone else, writers, producer, something.
I liked the Zack character. But I always thought Zack and Bone's personality and quirks were to similar for characters on the same show. Zack could have easily been Bone's little brother. Perhaps the writers tired of writing for both quirky characters and wrote out the Zack character. The Bones character wasn't as unique while the Zack character was around.
Have you not seen my complaints about Angela in the pilot?
I never read or heard of any drama with the actor and the writers and he has been back a couple of times.
I think that the more likely explanation is that they simply didn't know what to do with the character.
They tried to make him more grown up and then tried to give him him "issues" by sending him to Iraq but in typical fashion, they handled it all very ineptly.
(I mean, just having him killed or seriously injured while saving Hodgins from the explosion would have sufficed, but nooooooo, they had to totally ruin what little character he even had.)
On the other hand, these are the same writers that had Bones help Max skate from a murder charge.
I just watched this episode. It seemed much more like a Locator's pilot episode with Bones popping in.
It really seemed more like a Burn Notice knock off then a Bones spin off. From the moment the beauty with the accent opened her mouth I thought Burn Notice. So the guy can locate things instead of make them out of nothing. And the whole bit with him in the apartment lifting things and such made me think of Pysch.
I miss Zach. I think if they had just had him injured while saving Hodgins it would have been much better.
I wonder if Angela will name the baby Zach if it's a boy.
