Still a newbie, but just for everyone's consideration, I'd like to point out, that not all personal backgrounds are the same and therefore, when a statement is made while you're explaining "how to" on any subject, remember that the way you state something can cause different assumptions if you're not specific enough. Not always a problem, but a wrong assumption can lead to much frustration.

    OK, now for the poll.

I'd like to know which option is best for upgrading a Bolt to 3TB. Why limit it to 3 TB? Because, according to several posts, the Bolt will automatically format a 3TB drive with no additional work being necessary.
The three options are: 1. 2.5 inch FF HD replacing the original Bolt HD.
Option 2. 3.5 inch FF internal HD with external enclosure and replacing the original SATA cable.
Option 3. 3.5 in External HD and replacing the original SATA cable.

And, which mfr would be the best choice for each scenario?

I would still run mfsr on it. because
I put a 4TB drive in each of my Bolts. I've run msfr on every TiVo drive i have that you can run it on. So drives larger than 2TB.

Here is the MFS Reformatter (mfsr) thread

So, 1 (ONE) person voted. Hmmm. Not much interest I guess.

So, thanks anyway. I've cast my vote and since I had no help from this poll, I punted. However, I tried to use parts of two different posts that I read on this forum and now I have a problem. See new thread. "SATA or eSATA?"

It was already closed when I made my post. I think the OP messed up on the time the poll would be up.
