Help! So many posts. So hard to tie them all together for an actual solution. My TiVO Bolt 500GB was working fine, until it wasn't. It would not complete the boot. I pulled the drive, initialized it, reformatted it, and copied data to it. So, it seems healthy. I think it was corrupted or something. How do I get a clean TiVo OS (or whatever) back on it so that I can put it back together and see if it works?

Must not have seen that one, as I didn't see any software to download. I did see bits and pieces of reference to that software, though. But wait! I have an update. Forums made it sound like if you drop an uninitialized HDD into a Bolt, it will format itself and start up. So I tried it. I dropped the original drive, now formatted for Mac OS HFS+, GUID partition, back into the Bolt and powered up. It worked! It took off, churned for a while, and then sent me through TiVo setup process. I appear to be back in business.
