Hmm... Well, it's possible the user guide linked above is either simply incorrect or for some other version of the TC8715 gateway... especially since it was pulled from a Time-Warner Cable website. Perhaps TWC pushes a different feature-set with its firmware. >This post< from the Mediacom user forums indicates the 8715 may NOT support MoCA, at least as allowed by Mediacom.

Have you had any luck finding the modem signal levels screen?

Basing it on your wireless speed (and router.) However, it may be a factor of what devices you have connected and not your router itself. For your wired speeds, and an 802.11ac router would be ideal. Of course you have to have AC compatible devices to make the best use of it. Most of the later smartphones, tablets, laptops have this capability.

What would that look like? I don't see anything that says modem signal levels...

Yep, all that. Numbers look well within recommended range, per this info.

Simple test for you to run... add a 2-way splitter in front of the modem and check those numbers again. If they're still within spec, then you don't *need* a MoCA adapter with a pass-through port.

I'll try that when all my ordered parts come in. Right now all that has arrived is a 3 way splitter...but no additional coax cables.

Have you ever heard of the term "scope creep"?

Have you ordered a MoCA adapter, yet?

I guess we just keep it to the basic OP issue which is how to get his Bolt and mini connected to each other and the Internet and not advise on how to improve his overall connectivity for his Xbox and wireless devices.

"scope creep" (though the question wasn't directed at you)

That should get the job done. Did you also order the 2-way splitters mentioned in post #38, above?

Sure did. I ordered two of them and one 3 way splitter.

Since my Bolt will be sitting right next to my Xbox and won't be using the Ethernet port, I figured I could just run an Ethernet cord from the open port on the Bolt directly to the Xbox. My understanding is that I have to keep the Ethernet unplugged from the Bolt and configure MoCA settings and once that is done I can just run Ethernet right to the Xbox. Is that correct?

Don't have a 2 way splitter yet but some coax arrived today so I ran the test with a 3 way splitter. No end caps were used on the remaining open ports of the splitter.

Agreed, so the TiVo Bridge sans pass-through should not be an issue for your Internet connection.

And those numbers should improve some in the final setup, depending on the loss of the 3-way splitter output port the modem line is currently connected to in the attic, and the loss of the 3-way splitter port to which you connected for the test.

Thank you both for your tremendous help! The insight, knowledge, discussions and diagrams led to a successful install this evening.

The MoCA network is up and running well. Thanks to the help here I only set everything up once and it worked. The install was much quicker than the slow guided setup of the Bolt and Mini.

I haven't run an internet speed test since install but everything is up and running. Thank you again for walking this newbie through everything!
