On some channels my picture jumps like a millisecond on a show

My signal strength is at 100

    is it my cable card..?
    Hard drive.?
Do I need a Moca filter?

    Any thoughts would be Helpful

    It's not your cable card.
It's probably not your hard drive.
I don't know if you need a MoCA filter, more information could help.

A signal Strength of 100 could be 200 since it only goes to 100. I would first try to lower that to 90. You can try a variable attenuator or just a splitter if you have some around. A Bolt+ does display RS errors, which are zero? Is it only on recordings or also live TV? Every channel and or every program? We can help, we need more data.

I see you are using Hydra. Is it only the host or do the Mini boxes have the same problem?

    Joe..

    thanks for your reply

happens on certain channels and on recordings of those channels

So I happen to think its the coming from comast

I live in multi story building and comcast had to put in a booster/power splitter to get the signal stronger

Cool. But I think 1) it's possible that the fault is with Comcast, 2) you really need to get that signal strength down a little. Have you searched for a channel that is under 100%? That would help determine how much above 100% the other channels are getting their signal. My baseline is 90%, which is normal for my cable feed and Roamio, but some are 87% and a few hit 85%. None are above 90%.

I think that is the issue too.. comcast speeds some shows up (locally) to fit in more commercials ..

I will give it a whirl to reduce my signal

Sounds like a plan. If you decide (and are able) to install the attenuator with power applied, check the errors too. Expect them to be in the millions. But don't move the Bolt with power applied please.

Did you use an attenuator? If so, what was the rating? Glad you're almost perfect. :)

Yeah, I'd be curious to hear what your new signal strength & SNR are, and what level attenuator got you there.

I used a 6db attenuator.. signal level still at 100percent (had no clue how much higher it was) SNR is 41DB ..I am not sure what that means

Part of me says "if it's not broke don't fix it". Part of me says "I should have suggested 12dB". ;)
