Yeah, especially once the doll became unlocked. :D
I had the same problem, only it was Sherlock I knew him from...

Worst season so far. I like Smirhereens the least. It was present day and not enough technology. Yes it was commentary on Facebook, but just not interesting. Probably #3 with Miley was the best but none were that great.

That was such a funny moment! Not too much love for this in the interwebs, but I thought it was good, too.

Have caught 2/3 eps. Will try to get to Vipers soon.

Show got better in reverse order, IMO. Ashley O was a fun ride.

After seeing the first two, it had better be!

Boy that Hannah Montana sure has a filthy mouth.

Which I'm sure was the point and Cyrus loved it.

Not sure if it’s just Black Mirror, but for whatever reason Netflix has the seasons listed in reverse order, making navigating the episodes in order problematic. The episode thumbnails are missing the episode identifiers (e.g. S1E3), as well.

I liked all three episodes. Not my favorite season, and I do wish there were more episodes. But I read that Bandersnatch was originally a S5 episode that was expanded into a movie.

They all took pretty unexpected turns, for me at least.
With Striking Vipers, I certainly was not expecting the in game hookup! And I liked how they brought it full circle at the end with the wife's roleplaying and the husband "spending time" with his friend.
When I watched Smithereens, I was expecting it to just be about a ride share stalker. I had no idea what to expect when he took the intern hostage. Just when it was starting to drag, Topher Grace made an excellent cameo.
I had no idea what to expect when I got to Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too. Was pleasantly surprised by Miley's performance, and the concept of 20 foot tall rock star holograms performing music they wrote in a coma at multiple locations simultaneously is certainly not one that has been done to death!!

YES but close to becoming a reality.
I heard ABBA was going on tour again only to find out it is going to be holograms of them!!!
I am pretty sure we are going to start having hologram tours of dead pop stars in the near future. Whitney, Prince, Michael Jackson - none of that would surprise me...

The order I saw them in was the Miley one first, then Striking Vipers, then Smithereens. I've seen the first two (in my order) haven't seen Smithereens. I liked the Miley one. Striking Vipers was just too predictable. As soon as he picked the female character I saw there that was going.

Ugh, OnePass has all the episodes mapped wrong, at present.

1P “Episode 3” plays Striking Vipers
1P S5E1 “Striking Vipers” plays Smithereens
1P S5E2 “Smithereens” plays Ashley Too

Oddly enough, they’re listed in the correct order in the 1P listing sorted by season.

I liked all 3 but not as Black Mirror episodes. Striking Vipers was maybe the best one for me. Smithereens was just a drama, there was none of the futuristic tech that BM is known for so I was disappointed. Ah well.

I didn't really care for the 2 old buddies having sex in the video game episode. That just didn't do it for me. I haven't watched the other 2 new ones yet.

Enjoyed all three episodes. The black comedy seemed reminiscent of S1E1 (oink).

In the first VR scene they started with Karl's voice coming out of Roxette then switched over to the female voice.
It's Black Mirror I see no reason to not make assumptions not in evidence and that there's a voice option to use if one wants to :)

The one common thread in most Black Mirror episodes is sex. They tend to go overboard with it at times. I find most of the episodes to be hit or miss. Striking Vipers was just a VR sex show. Smithereens was a bit out of the norm for a BM episode in that it was mainly just a hostage drama that left you wondering what happened in the end and then showing how the rest of the world reacts with indifference. I enjoyed Ashley Too and thought Miley Cyrus was great even though I'm not really a fan. The moment when the doll woke up and yelled "Get this cable out of my a$$" made me almost fall out of the chair.

The one thing about British shows that I find irritating is that they only produce three episodes and consider it to be an entire season. Clearly they have no concept about what that really means. They do that with a lot of shows (e.g. Sherlock and Luther just to name a couple). They're really more of a mini-series than even closely related to being a full season.

Well, technically they don't call it a "season"; they call it a "series."

Ellicott... seems to have a different opinion about that. Plus, the title of this thread is for the discussion of Season 5, not Series 5.

Well, epguides calls everything "seasons" regardless of where they're from. And in England, they generally call them "series." (E.g., Doctor Who, whose annual productions are called "series" but are called "seasons" on epguides.) But it looks like the Black Mirror people did indeed called them "seasons," even before it technically became an American (Netflix) production.
