Ok! You guys have convinced me that a replacement drive upgrade is really a simple matter. After I jumper the drives correctly and connect them to the IDE port(s) on my PC, what settings do I use for the HDD in the BIOS?

    Auto-Detect, or what?

Doesn't the bios need to recognize the hard drives before the PC can use them?

Nowhere can I find anything on this.

Auto detect should be fine. I've used an old Pentium 233 computer where the BIOS could not recognize the larger drives to upgrade a TiVo with 250GB. I don't know if the Linux actually uses the BIOS much.
