Awful ... deleted the pilot and the SP after 20 minutes. Why was she so pissed off at the doctors? The whole reason she was upset and angry, etc ... was fake and unconvincing ... I doubt that anyone (except for certain religious beliefs) would get SO upset at getting any kind of implants that essentially save their life. Then after she runs away at an unnatural speed she just cries in the bathtub like the world has done her wrong ... yea right. Maybe they would explain it later but it was enough for me - terrible cliche writing. With so many things to watch this season, this one is no longer on the list.

Um, they replaced half her body (with unusual replacements), replaced a third of her blood with some weird robots that she could see through her skin, held her in some weird place against her will, wouldn't let her speak to her sister (for whom she's solely responsible), and threatened her life. On top of all that, her boyfriend was the one to do these weird things to her, and she lost a baby.

What part of that would have you dancing for joy?

As for the show, I'll keep the SP for now, on SciFi, since I have too many conflicts for network, but it wasn't as good as it could have been. It wasn't as bad as Moonlight, so I could at least watch the whole episode, but it's on the bubble for me.

I am not familiar with the original at all, and I was only half-watching for the 1st half of this show, but do we know why Starbuck was trying to kill the new Bionic Woman? It seems that she would try to befriend her, if anything, and get a sidekick in destruction. Kind of like a, "Hey, they screwed up both of us, let's be buddies," thing.

I'm sure she has a goatee buy we just can't c-it, the acting is much better than BSG but that isn't saying too much. As long as we gon't have to put up with Starbuck too much I think it will be an alright show.

Right, I got that part. I kind of assumed she became evil, though, because they made her bionic, i.e. she wouldn't be evil if they hadn't screwed with her, just as they screwed with our new bionic woman, (who would be dead, which I guess could be the difference.) Is this wrong?

I think we were supposed to assume she was trying to kill Dr. Anthros, at least for the car "accident."

She came right out and said that. As for fighting Jamie, I think Sarah was just testing her abilities to see what they replaced on her and to see what her vulnerabilities were.

Fair enough - except - is that a natural reaction to wake up in a hospital - after an obviously horrific crash - and RESENT the people that more or less saved her life? She's in a hospital, a crash victim, with her boyfriend by her side - and she's all pissed off? I'd understand it had she woken up and was immediately told she will work for them and can't leave. But they didn't.
Besides its natural for any hospital to keep patients until they're ready (unless insurance companies get in the way). And yes - she lost a baby - but had it been a normal victim in a normal hospital - do you think that person would blame the doctors?

    Alive? Functional limbs?

Yes, but that wasn't a hospital, and it was very obvious; it didn't even look like one, even her room didn't. And the boyfriend said something like "I have to tell you what I really do..." which would lead me to realize that he wasn't a simple college professor, and after I saw (and felt) what he did, I wouldn't know if they were "good" guys or "bad" guys. And, you're usually allowed to have visitors.

Anyway, I understood it, even if they took some shortcuts with the editing/writing of that part.

I had many more problems with the rest of the show.

    Back From...
I can't believe you guys who "liked the original show much better" saw the same show I saw back in 1976 (not to mention the fact that I know a lot of you were like 7 or 8 years old when it came on! :)) The show I remember was extremely campy... no that's not the right word, the show was hokey. It was Six Million Dollar Man except on estrogen, with silly sound and visual effects, goofy plots, and full of over the top women's lib crap.

I was in college when that show was on and I remember all of us getting together in the dorm living room to watch it. Of course we all watched it because we though Lindsay Wagner was hawt, but there was much laughter and derision otherwise. Most of us were heavily into sci-fi and we thought it was just stupid.

I'm not saying the new show is good by any means and I'm sure most would say that all the words I used to describe the old show perfectly describe the new show as well. (Well, except for the "over the top women's lib crap", unless you count the little girls "I didn't know girls could do that" comment. :D) I'm just saying the original show was no sci-fi masterpiece.

I have the Region 2 DVDs, and also have watched every single episode when I was a kid. Is my memory foggy?. I love the effects of the 70s!

Probably if I had watched the show as a kid instead of when I was 20 I would have thought more of it too.

Anyway, I forgot to say that if I were to rewatch the original show today I might have a more favorable opinion of it. I used to hate the original BSG too, but when rewatching it a few years ago I really enjoyed it. The special effects seemed kinda retro this time around rather than lame, kind of like watching an old Buck Rogers show. (And no I am NOT comparing BSG to Bionic Woman! :D)

Are you counting cast members only; or anyone affiliated w/BSG? Even then, I only see three:

    Aaron Douglas (Chief Tyrol)
    Katie Sackhoff (Starbuck)
    David Eick (producer)

    Who am I missing?
