IIRC, they said at Comic-Con that they were mostly just reshooting the parts with the sister. Otherwise, what you see is what you get.

Of course, I suppose after getting feedback, they could change their mind.

What do you mean 'her'? Mae is a female name.

It's apparently a joke from Arrested Development. Just disregard it. (AD people mostly repeat the jokes to amuse themselves, but no one else. ;))

Oh, is that who it was? I recognized her but couldn't quite place her face.

I'm a diehard Arrested Development fan and for whatever reason, that reference just flew over my head! I loved Mae Whitman on that show. I don't where my head's been today!

Sorry, I'm kind of new to this. Can someone send me the link to this pilot? Also, if you have links to Chuck, Dirty/Sexy/Money, Big Shots, or Reaper's pilots, I would appreciate those as well. Thanks in advance!

Go to a bittorrent search site like isohunt.com and search for the term "preair" and you'll usually find all these sorts of advance releases.

Anyone know if the "real" one, without Egg glittered up for Easter, is out yet?

I didn't watch the 'first' pilot, but but the 'official' one from unbox downloads was pretty decent. Its nice to see the BSG actors getting some work during the hiatus, and past the end of the last season.

watched it yesterday, it was an ok show but jumped way too quickly through the surgery / recovery and they added that super healing power ala Wolverine/X-Men, so that allows them a huge degree of latitude compared to the original show. She also became 'bad ass' way too quickly for me, i guess the result of her brain implants and all but still the show lacked 'pacing' i guess, which could have been done so much better.

i'll add it to the Season Pass for a few episodes, we'll see if it improves.

Having watched it back in July I made a similar comment, so in watching this "final" version from Amazon Unboxed, I was hoping the pacing would improve or they would flesh out some of the scenes (maybe a 90 minute or two-hour pilot would have been in order?). Alas, they only re-shot the scenes with the actress playing her sister and finished the effects shots.

I'm still looking forward to more episodes though!

I watched the Amazon Unbox download.

Dull, dull, dull. Where's the excitement and sense of wonder and velocity in storytelling? Didn't grab me at all. Not sure I'll bother watching the rest.

    I hated the running sequence.

IMO, it is much more effective to show it in slow motion, like the original series. The CGI sped-up version looks really bad.

I do like her terminator-like eye.

And for the record, she is now the fifty million dollar woman.

    Watched it from Unbox too.

Not excited enough to watch it over Private Practice and Kitchen Nightmares.

I watched the unbox version now. I think it is now "tighter" and fills in some of the holes that the original pilot had.

However, I do think it would have benefited from a 2 hour premire.

The original bionic woman was a trained soldier, in addition to having the bionic implants. This new one is a waitress, but yet she is an expert fighter right away? Makes no sense.

There should have maybe been some matrix like training before she could start fighting.

I'm not sure why the changed the sister, and made her into a "oooh" computer hacker! Seems kind of silly. But having her be deaf just for the sake of having a deaf character is silly too.

The fighting: at least in the original cut of the pilot, they made significant mention of certain chips embedded into her brain that gave her that ability.

The sister: I think that the computer hacker bit might give them more ability to include the sister in the action of the show. On the other hand, the deaf sister would have given them more of an avenue for telling the story of the personal life of Jamie. I think I'd have preferred the latter, myself.

That's one thing that really suffered on "Alias" as the series went along: Sydney's personal life became more and more of an afterthought to the action-oriented elements of the show. I fear that will happen here as well.

So why was she able to best Sarah with one arm? Newer martial arts chip that included something? And are we to assume that the tiny particle thingies healed her other arm? it was clearly broken, then suddenly ok. Did the creators watch marathons of la femme nikita and alias when coming up with this pilot? Sure seems like it. Mediocre so far. But so was the BSG pilot, which had the same font in the credits, and same musician playing that weird instrument.
