Does anyone make a big button learning remote for a Tivo RF?
I would guess that you would have to settle for IR if you can find a large-button model. I'm assuming the RF protocol is specific and proprietary to TiVo.
Does a Roamio OTA support IR? Mine seem to be set up RF and I assumed that was all that worked.
IR as well.
Every TiVo (including Mini) supports IR. The voice control requires BT.
All modern TiVos support IP control also. I have two URC remotes that do it but no big buttons. There are also apps for that.
Here you go: https://www.amazon.com/Quantum-UN3J-Universal-Remote-Control/dp/B000QAPVUS
But, where are the 8-second-replay and advance buttons?!?
When you find a big button universal with those as well as all other Tivo centric buttons (Live, Clear, Thumbs, etc.), post it. Unless you use a tablet, it doesn't exist.
Chunghop makes a learning remote with 11 programmable buttons. I have a couple and I think I will try one of them. I just have to change one of my RF remotes back to IR to load the key codes. I think you can run a TIVO OK with 11 buttons
