He "threaten" to put them up if they did not participate.
As far as jury votes what if it is Keesha and Dan in the finale? Who do you think April will vote for?
I agree Dan made a huge move to make enemies on the jury but then again he is playing the game and trying to think moves ahead. Sure it is great to be friendly to the jury members but if you are not the final 2 being friendly to the jury members were all for naught.
I love the whole Michelle is stupid on my forehead? I see what is going on here, he is a plant. The producers must be laughing their asses off.
if they collectively told him to pound sand then what?
Exactly, by now they should be smart enough to figure out he is playing all of them. They should ban together and get rid of him. Look how bad Evil Dick was and won. I would not feel comfortable going to the final with him.
I don't understand the game at all...you rigged it so there was obviously going to be a 4-way tie...so how does this justify putting up Michelle??? If you were gonna pull that crap why not go, "Since it's a tie, I'll let the POV holder be the tie breaker." Then Memphis could name Michelle and at least THAT would've made sense.
Dan confuses me...
It was not to justify putting Michelle up but to have everyone else pointing fingers at each other so there are other reasons for people to be pissed at each other rather then just Dan alone.
The first person to say 'no' would go on the block.
Huh? Do you mean his 5 yr old grandson who is shy being on tv, or his wife with Parkinson's Disease? That's pretty weak, dude.
I think Dan screwed up with his deal and didn't realize the kind of trouble he would be in until after the nominations. His whole act about everything being intentional is a farce constructed to save face with Memphis.
The game at the meeting wasn't for anything but to get people pissed off at each other for saying each other's names (WTF - Ollie would put me up?! Screw that! Down with Ollie!)...That's why it was so important for everyone to say a different name....and as a result, take some heat off himself.
That said, it was easily the best episode of the season so far.
But couldn't they all figure out what he was doing. If someone asked me to say a name my first thought would be why does he want me to do this and how does this benefit me. Especially Ollie, he didn't even want to say Renny's name.
But it STILL doesn't make any sense because he told them all BEFORE the veto meeting who was going to be saying their name. So no one at all was shocked about who said whose name and no real drama came of it.
Huh? Tribal Council every 3 days...Final Vote on final day.
BTW, somebody tell Dan to look straight at the camera. I'm tired of looking him in the left eye all the time.
I agree and I think Dan is wimping out standing behind the 'weak player' facade.
He should have just put up Ollie or said 'it was not in my best interest to put up Keesha.'
Anyone here remember Kaysar letting go of the button a couple seasons ago? Ollie should know that only the only way to get the job done is to do it yourself which meant winning HOH.
Oh right right right......The vote is there but the reveal is later. I guess I was thinking about how they can change what they "would have done" if they had been able to watch things back before voting.
Big Brother used to not have a sequester house, and the contestants would just go home and watch the whole series.....diary room entries included. Then get to decide who wins. They changed it to start sequestering when one woman was saying nasty things about everybody in the DR but she was liked in the house, and she didn't win because the people outside of the house didn't like her DR sessions even though she played a better game.
Dan would have the game locked up now if it was an audience vote.
I still don't think it will hurt them. He is Bolt'in and Phelps'in all over this house. He is running circles around the rest of them. They all constantly complain about him and what he is up to, but he continues to do it, without consequence, and I think it will continue.
Jerry, Ollie and Michelle can sit around saying they will never give the money to Dan, but they will. Well except for Jerry who is a crazy mean old man.
This had to be the best HOH week ever. He starts off winning and intentionally trying to make himself look weak when he wins. He makes the worst deal in the history of BB. He puts up his closet Ally in the game on the block. He breaks the worst deal ever made, but at the same time also makes everyone else in the house jump through his hoops.
They have ALL been doing this for 4 or 5 weeks now. This is nothing new. Literally everyone in the house, Renny and Keesha included has been questioning and non-trusting of him essentially form the 2nd or 3rd week. It makes no difference they still allow him to do what he does. I don't think at this point the latest deal is anything new.
I think Dan realizes playing for Jury Votes is a loser's game. The last few season of BB is litered with people who played for BB jury votes and never made it to the vote. You play a good game and get to the final 2, you have a good chance of winning, regardless of whom you pissed off.
They vote on survivor on the island before they come back. It is very comparable. People off the show and people out of the house are away for a relatively equal amount of time. In fact the first jury member in Survivor will have LESS time away from the game when they vote then the first sequester member will in Big Brother.
That explains his diary room that seemingly took place right after the HOH competition where he said he had to look weak and made the deal intentionally? How was a DR session for memphis' benefit.
Much like all of the houseguests, I think some viewers still don't understand what Dan is doing, has been doing.
He's playing to win, using everything he can without really pissing people off. He's using peoples emotions, and playing possum. It's the opposite of ED, instead of scaring everyone, and bullying them around.. appear weak and lovable.. and it's working great.
I think he is showing that if he really wanted to he could easily win every competition, yet no one is seeing him as a threat..
No - First, this is not a negative criticism of Dan. I thought it was awesome gameplay.
I believe he made the deal to appear weak, but I believe he had every intention of letting Ollie actually call all the shots because he was confident he could get the votes for Memphis to stay.
Then when Dan realized how pissed Memphis was, and that the outcome of the vote was still technically a wildcard (Renny), and could actually send Memphis home... he changed his game (smart!).
I don't think it was his original intention to do any backdooring or deal breaking...he was just counting on making a stupid deal to make him seem weak and was hoping the house would vote in favor of the "Renegades" autonomously, so Ollie/Michelle wouldn't be pissed at him.
Otherwise, like someone suggested upthread, he could have just broke the deal from the beginning at the nomination with the same affect.
I like Dan...clearly he is the best and most entertaining player in the game - I just think these actions were more reactive than they are being given credit for.
