Hey does anybody know what the relationship to Roseanne show is. So far 3 actors from Roseanne on it. Not bad.

    Show is getting better too.

Other then Johnny Galecki, I know that Chuck Lorre is a writer on the show and was also a writer on Roseanne. Also I gotta say I think the show is getting much better too.

C'mon.. give Chuck Lorre a tad bit more credit then just as a writer..... Executive Producer! :)

That's the kind of pull that lets them have fun bringing in former cast-mates for Johnny Galecki (Leonard).

Personally.. while there is no connection to this show... if Mr. Lorre is going to recycle formerly used actors.. I'd prefer to see the folks from Dharma & Greg again...

I enjoyed this episode. Sheldon was in fine form and his mother was a hoot with all the religious references. All of her stories about young Sheldon (and his dumb as dirt siblings) really made him out to be a big loser, so it was especially funny to get the bedtime payoff at the end of the show.

Funny, I didn't like this episode as much as the others. While I have no problem with Sheldon's character being more caricaturish than the others, I felt that it was tougher for him to carry an episode than Leonard and the traditional sitcom relationship stuff. I also felt that it's way too early for this show to be in danger of having too much "stunt casting".

The bulk tampon idea is one who's time has come :p

When Sheldon's mom appeared I didn't even think about Roseanne. Instead, I remembered her from The Norm Show.

I thought this EP was a little letdown from the previous ones - in fact, the entire Monday night CBS comedy was weak.

I'm enjoying this show more and more every week. I thought the scenes with Sheldon at the store with Penny were uncomfortably hilarious.

However, it really seems strange that Penny is even friends with these guys. Why was she over there having dinner with all of them and Sheldon's mom? I mean, other than the fact that it's a sit-com. After her outing at the store with Sheldon, it's obvious that they wouldn't get along and she really doesn't have anything in common with any of the other geeks.

Yeah I don't get the Penny relationship also she does not seem to like these guys so I don't know why she hangs out with them. They are going to have to endear her to them so there is a reason she is around. Well other than being hot.

I'd peg it very much as "that wacky world that exists only in sitcoms"
A very similar relationship to Rose in 2 1/2 Men right after Big Bang... (and of course both Lorre helmed)

Penny just got out of a bad relationship. She always dates the "buff" guys that treat her like crap. She's in need of "company" and the geeks across the hall are friendly and she doesn't feel threatened by them. So she just kinda starts hanging out with them and it goes from there.

    Or maybe it's a sitcom. :D

This show is funny, although still not as good as "The Class"

And the bulk tampon idea is the best idea ever. PERIOD!

I totally get that it's a sit-com. And I'm willing to suspend my disbelief that she doesn't feel threatened by them and is willing to spend some time with them. However, the dichotomy in this one episode of her being completely creeped out by Sheldon in one scene, and having dinner with his mom and the other geek friends in the next (well, three later or so) is unreasonable. I just think they need to do a better job of endearing her to them, and have them creep her out a little less. I'm not sure how non-threatening a couple of nerds are who break into your apartment in the middle of the night anywho.

I like reading the little comment cards that Chuck puts after the episodes. I used to read the ones on Dharma and Greg too.

Last night's was funny. Did anyone else read it? It was written by the spirit of Sheldon Leonard. :p

I thought last night's was a big step down... though all along I've been laughing at this show but thinking they couldn't keep it up. (Plus it's such a cliched premise.)
