I see no way Lalo survives the end of BCS. Nacho *might* survive but Lalo has to know he let those guys in to his compound.

I think Saul/Jimmy is never is told what happens to Lalo and Nacho at the end of BCS. Mike is tight lipped and Gus Fring owes nothing to Jimmy. So in BB when Saul freaks out he thinks the events are finally catching up to him, not knowing those players are all dead. I honestly think Jimmy and Fring never meet.. I can't recall a time they do in either series, why would they meet in BCS. Saul might work for Fring later on, but he goes through Mike, or maybe even Tyrus.

If Kim survives, and doesn't blow up her life ruining Howard, or run away with Saul's money, I still think Kim might land the Los Pollos Hermanos retainer, become Fring's official lawyer, and do pro bono on the side which will even help with Fring's public image. Saul/Jimmy is a known shyster, and has started building up a reputation, so keeping him at arms length and be the "criminal lawyer" is a good position for him. There's no reason for him to ever meet Fring.

But at some point he needs to find out the assassination failed - he is currently going to bed under the assumption that Lalo will be dead by morning, and he can go back to work.

And if Lalo killed all the men, where is Nacho off to? Just hanging outside the compound waiting on them? Running into the Mexican desert?

He has a phone (though he's out of range), so I guess he will try to get a call to Mike as soon as he can.

Maybe he'll wack himself on the head and pretend that he heard something by the gate and got knocked out while the rest was happening. haha

What I mean is after the series ends, Jimmy won't in the loop on the details of the war between Fring and Lalo.

If they were trying to close the gap, they wouldn't have spent FIVE seasons of BCS barely covering two years of time.
It definitely wasn't canceled. Just like with BB, the producers decided how many episodes they needed to finish out the story and they negotiated that with AMC/Sony. In fact, S6 of BCS will be longer than any of the previous seasons, presumably because Gilligan and Gould decided that's how many episodes they needed.
This is preposterous. You're talking about a woman who felt dirty working for a bank and quit a very prestigious, high-paying job because she didn't like doing that kind of work. And now you think she'd be happy to take a job doing legal work to cover up drugs and murder for the Cartel?

Snub (sort of): ‘Better Call Saul’
Yes, the AMC series was nominated for best drama and Giancarlo Esposito was in the field for supporting actor. But it was noticeable that Bob Odenkirk, Rhea Seehorn and Jonathan Banks, all solid favorites in their categories, were shut out.

And I enjoyed this latest season as well as or better than any of the others. I did save them up and binge them over just a few days, so that helps me with the continuity.
