Yeah but her ponytail was missing her signature curl in this episode. She must have not packed her curling iron.

(That hairdo makes me laugh every time.)

I’m not saying they are different people or it’s just a coincidence. I’m just saying there’s a huge disconnect between the BCS and BB timelines that to make that leap now in BCS would be a stretch. And out of character for VG and PG to overlap the shows like that.

So...what exactly are you saying? They're not different people, it's not a coincidence, but they didn't do it on purpose...

    So...

    What?

He's saying that when Saul mentions Lalo and Ignacio in BB, he's not referring to the events of this episode of BCS, because this episode happened over four years BEFORE the scene in BB happened. So it would be very strange for that to be the first thing Saul's mind jumps to. I'm fairly certain that when Saul says that it's because of a more recent incident involving Lalo and Ignacio, which gives me hope that both of them will survive for all or at least most of the final season.

And even though I got mixed up a bit on the exact conversation of that exchange in BB, this is essentially what I said in my post. There has to be more between Nacho and Lalo that far in the future, so I don't think Lalo kills him and that Nacho finds a way to explain away his absence in that shoot out.

In BB, we saw Walt asking Saul more than once for a meet with Gus.
I think next season in BCS, we’ll see Saul asking Mike to set up a meet with Gus for Walt.

And again, the timelines just do not meet up for that to happen. WW doesn't even meet Saul until S2E8 of BB, and I'm 100% sure that BCS will end way before that (not including the Gene scenes). Gus Fring doesn't show up until even later, S2E11 when he meets WW for the first time.

I personally believe that WW will never make an appearance or even a mention in BCS.

That's why I used the words "might" and "could be." Good lord. I think it's not entirely implausible that when Saul gets the word that the assassination attempt failed (which won't be imminent because of the phone call Lalo forced the burnt assassin to make) he spends the rest of his life looking over his shoulder worried about Lalo. I stand by my first statement - he thinks (or knows) Lalo is still alive. He's clearly scared of him. I don't know why that would be dismissed out of hand.

Sure, it could be something that happens in S6. It could be something that we never see, that happens between the end of BCS and beginning of BB (or even during the BB timeline). I certainly wouldn't put it past the writers to leave the fate of several BCS characters (that don't appear in BB) ambiguous. That's the thing about prequels - they don't need a traditional "ending." We may not know the fate of any or all of Lalo, Nacho, Howard, or even Kim.

It's also possible the writers are getting a little loose with the timelines, trying to close the gap between BCS and BB a little bit. I agree that we won't see WW or JP - that story has been told.

At some point, Saul completely flips to the "Fring wing" of the cartel. That makes him an enemy of the Salamancas, even if he's a friend of the cartel.
Gene Takovic is not just hiding from the authorities. Do you really think he's worried that "Cab driver Jeff" is with the DEA?
Even after Gus takes out Eladio, Bolsa, and many of the top guys, the cartel is still active. Remember Declan saying "Cartel got Fring?" That was the common assumption, and it's not as if Hector could have pulled that off on his own.

Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould? NFW. They are not loose with anything.

Wasn't it just two weeks ago several of us were commenting on how implausible it was for Mike to be in perfect sniper position?
And come to think of it, last week too - he got there pretty quick after Nacho alerted him about Lalo heading into Saul & Kim's apartment.

    It's a TV show.

My understanding is that Gilligan and Gould only plan out each season as they go along, but do not otherwise have an overall plan or even specific ending in mind. I'm guessing that they don't even know Nacho's and Lalo's fate at this point much less the precise reason Saul mentioned them in BB.

That was all speculation on our part, but since we never saw the parts that lead up to those events, it's only a guess. I also think those are minor plot points and not fudging the entire timeline of both series.

    This.

It's 100% the hair. I've said to my wife many times over the course of the show that she looks so much better with it down.

IMO if this series ends with an appearance by WW it'll be when him and Jessie walk into his office. That said, I don't think it'll happen. That's too many years to cover with only one season left.

Was BCS always set in stone to be 6 seasons? My guess is maybe they went slow and steady hoping they can catch up to BB timeline and it would end with that but with it being canceled after 6th season that screws up there plans and might have some time jumps during next season to catch up.

My guess is the show is ending (not being canceled) now because Gilligan wants it to end now. I suspect AMC would keep it going as long as they could.
