Looks like Saul gave Howard his answer.

Where was Mike at the end of the show? Anyone recognize that place?

That looks like the same place in Mexico where Mike recovered in Breaking Bad under the care of the Doctor in Gus' employ.

Thanks. I remember that happening, but don't remember the place at all. Will be interesting to see if we get to see how he got there (this time).

My guess is Gus has someone following Mike who intervened. Otherwise, Mike would be dead.

Why would Saul damage the car? The sequence had him buying all that even before (but post scheduling perhaps?) he had the lunch.

Not everything happens linearly so I'm assuming that the bowling ball purchase happened after the lunch even though we saw it at the beginning of the episode. As to why, I think it was a pretty obvious FU to Howard.

The purchasing scene was a mini flash forward. He stopped at the store on the way back from visiting the old man and showing him the horse picture. The lunch with Howard was before that.

Hmm. I had taken that as he had already decided that he was going to do that, and then had the meeting and it didn't change anything...

But wasn't that just a giant (and very sanitized) tent in the middle of nowhere? It could be the same place I guess but it doesn't feel like it. Or maybe it was just upgraded for Gus later.

Maybe. I am happy to find out next week. It struck me immediately as a throw back to his recuperation during BB. I assumed it was a way to get another minor BB character into the mix on BCS.

Okay I didn't get to watch this until today so here are my thoughts. No Nacho :(

The kid working for Gus. Don't they make min wage? Are you serious with how picky he was about those fryers. That kid does not make enough money to stay that long scrubbing. This is the kind of thing that makes me glad I never had to work fast food as a kid.

I can't wait to see where this goes with Saul representing the old man. Wouldn't it be easy enough for the Mesa Verda people to realize he's her boyfriend, since they do live together and all?

I agree about the comments above regarding Howard. Saul in court with his defendant switch had me in stitches. Loved the Hank/Gomez back and forth. They were always a favorite duo of mine.

The guy who stayed to clean the fryer is the manager (or asst. manager?). He let the minimum wage guy who did the first cleaning of the fryer go home with the others and then locked the door behind them. But as you said, probably neither the management guy nor the regular worker makes much money. Although given how much money Gus is bringing in he may pay better than most fast food type places in the area which could be why the management guy wanted to please Gus.

Gus was pretty clearly establishing an alibi for the time of the dead-drop arrests, although I'm not entirely sure why he felt he needed to...

I didn't feel it was as much an alibi as it was him trying to patiently wait for the call that all was clear... and not succeeding entirely.

Perhaps. I wasn’t paying full attention to the opening scene so I missed the details of when it might have occurred.

But he wouldn't have needed the kid there for that...I think he wanted a witness.

I've lost track. Why did Gus throw the DEA a $700K bone?

To preserve his inside man (Nacho) with Lalo. Also I wouldn't put it past him to have done something to or left something additional with the money to point in the direction of lalo's crew.
