I've been seeing this in the comments. How could that be given that this is a prequel?

Because that scene took place in the future where Saul works at a Cinnabon.

I didn't go back to check, but did "Gene" give a social security number that was only 8 digits?

No, but he gave the digits in an unusual sequence (3, 3, 3 instead of 3, 2, 4) perhaps to hide the fact that the two were 00, which is like a 555 telephone exchange.

I'm one of the bizarre ones watching (and loving) BCS without having watched BB. All this concern about spoilers for BB seems like overly-fussy political correctness to me. They don't bother me. I will probably watch BB after BCS ends, actually seeing events in the right time sequence. If BB is as well done as BCS it should be a real treat.

Seriously, we're in Season 4 of this show and we hash out the BB spoiler discussion again? There's already discussion of BB on the season 1-3 episode threads for the show, why would this season be any different?

There is one advantage to watching BCS first. I would think it makes it more intense during certain scenes because you don't necessarily know which characters will live or die. If you watch BB first, then you know that any character that is still around in the BB timeline obviously can't die in BCS. :)

I hope they stick the landing on the turn from Jimmy to Saul, because if someone started watching BB after watching the first three seasons of BCS, the character of Saul would likely be very jarring.

I hope we don't have to put "Breaking Bad spoilers ok" to have Breaking Bad spoilers. That should just be implicit, because BCS is a continuation of BB. And I'm usually one who is a pedant on spoilers.

How hard is it to put Breaking Bad Spoilers OK in the title, make everyone happy.

Not exactly. BCS is a prequel of BB in that the events of BCS take place mostly before BB, except for a brief flash-forward at the beginning of each season.

I personally don't give a shirt because I've seen BB, but I also don't see much point in discussing BB here. I vote for spoiler tags around any BB discussion, if one really feels the need to comment on Walter and Jessie's adventures.

It's very hard to make everyone do it.

It's a continuation, regardless of whether the events take place before or after. And as you point out, the events take place both before and after. And it's clear in many cases that the writers assume we have watched BB.

There is a point in discussing it here, because it's part of the same story. Some of the discussion is naturally about how Jimmy becomes the Saul that we know from BB. Some of the discussion is about how those flash forward scenes fit in, which is going to involve BB. Nobody should go out of their way to spoil BB here, but it's going to be discussed.

Very easy to circumvent it. Someone starts a thread without the BB spoilers OK, all someone has to do is start another thread with the BB spoilers allowed.

IMO, it would be bad thing to have two threads for every episode.

I think the point is that if someone starts a thread that doesn't say "BB spoilers OK", then you could start a new one that does say "BB spoilers OK" and then the discussion would shift to the new thread and the earlier one would die out, because so far there hasn't been anyone who actually expressed that they didn't want to participate in a thread with BB spoilers. We've only had pedants saying that including untagged spoilers for BB is against the forum rules if it's not stated in the thread title.

Yeah, has anybody actually complained about the "spoilers"? I think the "complaints" have been entirely theoretical...
