Who says he wants to keep Lalo around?
Gus’ Lab isn’t ready, so he need the drug supply from the Salamanca’s (for now)
Gus does'nt want to keep Lalo around.
They try putting him in jail, but discover he can still cause trouble from there. (cant believe they didn't see that coming)
So they get him out on bail, by causing the court to find out that mike basically fed the witness information to get lalo arrested.
They believe Lalo will flee the country, and that they'll be able to knock him off south of the border.
Killing him in the US would point directly to Fring.
Thanks for posting this -- as I wasn't understanding why they worked to put Lalo into jail, then turned around to try to get him out!
It's because the logic is flawed on Gus's part. He's usually smarter than this. Even if Lalo wasn't ruling from jail, they'd just send the next Lalo like they did when Tuco went in. Was Gus planning to get the entire Salamanca clan imprisoned??
Is like Darlene said in Ozark, they’ll just send more Mexicans
Wasn't Gus's main concern that Lalo knew they were doing something suspicious with regards to the underground lab, which forced him to stop construction? Even though there will always be a Salamanca running things in the US, he wants one who isn't as observant/suspicious.
this. he needs/wants Lalo specifically out of the picture.
Okay that makes more sense then.
I've been watching for the past three weeks S1 thru S4 on Netflix and DVR'd this season in preparation. I've been on the fence with this show as I wasn't a HUGE fan of Breaking Bad. To be honest, when it first aired, I was not the one watching, my wife was. But now that I'm all caught up I'm going to revisit Breaking Bad.
As I'm watching this and last week's episode, IMO Kim is not long for this world. If not next week, next season for sure. She made herself known to Lalo. A BIG mistake. Saul knows this of course. And this week's outburst to Lalo did not help. Although one can say he may respect her more than Saul. My other reason (as mentioned here I believe) is that she is not part of the BB series. And no sign of her in the Gene flash forwards.
I'm absolutely amazed how they managed to work the characters from BB here. The writing is superb. Who knew Mike and Jimmy had such a long history. Was that mentioned in BB? And I love Kim and feel Jimmy and/or Saul doesn't deserve her. And since S1-S4 is still so fresh in my mind, I'm still missing the heck out of Chuck. Micael McKean was sooo good in this. I checked and he was nominated but never won. What a shame!
Interesting. Depending on time zones and stuff, that episode could be on opposite the season finale of BCS. I wonder if the Conan interview will assume people have seen it and discuss the finale, or if it's more of a promo to get people to watch the finale.
Damn, can’t believe the next episode is the season finale already— went fast! (and next year the final season). The opening next year with Gene should be interesting.
I'm dying to watch the finale. I didn't get to last night so now I have to wait for darkness to fall so I can properly see the screen. AARGH!
I can't believe it's over. Damn.
At least we get one more season.
And the series will be one episode longer than BB
Blackout shades for the win!
And I'm off to watch...
No such thing here in this kitty house!
Decent interview. Don’t watch until after you see the finale of BCS (minor spoilers). Also Discusses e8, with clips from the desert.
