I would like to be able to use an Ipod or some other tablet to emulate my Tivo remote, specifically to start a program from Now Playing, Pause, and Fast Forward.

I am current using an MX-800, but I suspect that the wireless signals are sometimes being stepped on my other wireless devices in my house.

From what I can see, the Tivo ipad app will not allow me to accomplish my goals with the Series 3 or HD model.

Will the DVRREMOTE ipod app allow me to control my Tivo HD thru the ipod and my wireless router?

Is there any other alternative I should consider?

    Thanks.

Why not? You can't see the Now Playing List on the device like you can with the Premiere, but the remote feature works just fine with my S3 and THD.

Work just fine with my HD. Why don't you try the app and find out? If it doesn't work you can delete it.

    Windracer:

Thanks. I'll have to try it. I guess I mis understood the matrix on the tivo web page. I thought the x for start shows meant that you couldn't use it to view a show.

Yeah, that's a little misleading. That means you can't see the show and start it from the Now Playing screen on the iPad. But you can still use the remote feature to navigate to the NPL on the TiVo itself and start playback that way. Not as elegant, but still functional.

You can also use the BuddyTV Guide App as a remote control. Currently, this is only good for iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPads. Android support will be forthcoming. Just Google it or do a search in the iTunes store.

You can also create your own personalized grid of only the channels you actually watch. Plus you get recommendations based on your preferences. Good luck!

    That's LRhorer, if you please.

It's definitely not frilly or fancy, but it should work on any platform that has Python loaded and has LAN access.
