I know I asked this before I have a 2017 4K Samsung tv with Bolt+. Should I be using "AUTO" (Recommended) output or check everything separate? I would think that if the channel is in say 720P I would want to watch in 720P? Nothing on Comcast is 4K anyway (Live Channels)

When you select "auto", what you will get is on the right side of the screen. With TE3, my TV says 1080i. With TE4, my TV says 1080p. Same 1080p Sony.

I use 1080i and 1080p(pass thru) as my only two selections. I like what I see, which is all that matters.

4K is not readily forth coming and none is available on cable or OTA.

Using Tivo with several resolutions will constantly change resolutions on the TV while changing channels with different resolutions. (Auto will do the same.)
Best is to use the highest resolution that the TV accepts without any complications. Tivo will upconvert to it.
