I have a Tivo Bolt vox running the old interface via Ethernet connection. I would consider, but not prefer updating the interface. Comcast cable.
I am looking to add a mini in the next room over, access to coax but no Ethernet. NOT running wires!
The tv hooked to the mini would not be 4K.
    I have both 5G and 2.4G.
I am not very tech savy but can follow directions especially if in video form.
I do not currently own a mini. From what I read I have a few options and questions...

    1. MOCA:
-Could this slow or interfere with internet signal do to use and filter?
    -stronger signal than wireless extender?
-This would allow me to stay with the old interface and give me the option of using a cheaper mini (version 2).
-If I use this option should I pay the extra bucks for a (used) mini vox?
    Cost:
    $16 for filter plus
$50-$75 for used 92000/93000 mini or
    $120 used mini vox
    $66 to $136 total

    2. Tivo WiFi 5 USB adapter

-Would need to update to new interface
-Would need to buy more expensive mini Vox.
    Cost:
    $59 adapter plus
    $120 used mini vox
    $179 total

    3. Wireless ac extender with ethernet bridge

    -Don't have to switch interface
-Can use with old or new mini.
    -no MOCA messing up signal
    $16- $25 extender plus
    $50-$75 for used 92000/93000 or
    $120 used mini vox
    $66 to $136 total

Someone had suggested this product...would I also need a filter if I used it?

Any reason to choose #2 over #3?

    Anything I am missing?
    Which would you choose?

My mini is connected to the Ethernet input of my Google WiFi "hub" that sits next to the mini. No issues so far.

After seeing the thread on older minis taking down home LANs I will probably go with the newer mini vox.

Now on to MOCA, TIVO WiFi 5 or wireless bridge.

What is your router model and how far is it from where the Mini will be located?

How good is your wifi reception in that room? If it's good enough to surf the internet then wifi will be just as good for the mini. If it's not, I highly recommend moca.

    So option 2 above...

    Sale on TIVO

    Mini vox $119.99

    and WiFi 5 USB $29.99

    $149.98 Total for new

    Done deal!
If the USB adapter ends up sketchy I can return or ebay it and use the other options to connect.
