I was browsing through shows and wondered if this was what it seemed to be in a brief description I saw. It is, it takes characters from several Dickens novels like Bleak House, Great Expectations, Oliver Twist, and puts them all into one intertwining story. The primary storyline is the mystery of who killed Jacob Marley (was he murdered in A Christmas Carol, don't recall), so its sort of Dickens meets Sherlock Holmes

Purists would probably hate it. I’ve only seen the first 2 EPs (of 10) and am finding it entertaining.

It didn’t go over big when it was broadcast. The BBC was hoping it would be a big show as they built fancy sets. But it flopped when it was broadcast. I watched a few of them and lost interest.

I watched the first episode and decided it was too depressing.
