This is not the old problem of audio dropping out while in the menu, but on some recordings the audio drops out frequently. This has happened on different channels, so I wonder if it could be something in TiVo land. Anyone else seeing anything like this?

We have a problem where the sound drops out, but when we back it up and play it again the sound is there. In our case it is not a Tivo issue, evidenced by the fact that we had the exact same thing with the Time Warner DVR before switching to Tivo Premiers. Had tech check a couple of times, but no resolution as of now.

Hmm... yours could be a problem with the cable between the TiVo or DVR and the amp or TV...have you tried the analog line outs instead of the HDMI or optical out you're presumably using?

If you have the TiVo connected directly to the TV (and not thru an AV Receiver) be sure that the Audio setting on TiVo is PCM, not DD 5.1.
