I need to try installing a variable attenuator for my OTA signal.
I want to install it behind my HR10-250, so I can monitor the adjustments.
Will that be OK? or must it be located near the antenna end of the cable?
    Same with a FM trap?
    Thanks

In regards to the FM Trap I have always been told to install it as close to the device as possible to negate any possible interference that the incoming line might pickup. I do not see why the attenuator placement would be affected as all it does is induce or reduce resistance depending on the need.
