He could be Mr. Roper's nephew or maybe cousin Oliver from out of town.

I'll tune in for the first ep at least, just to see how they pull this off.

I actually think this could be good. I'll definitely be watching-if for no other reason than to prove to Charlie Sheen he isn't god. Apparently, he doesn't remember that his coming into Spin City didn't extend the run of the show.

    It'll be interesting.

I must have missed something big. Why is he a d-bag?

But, Charlie was on Spin City for two full seasons. Seasons that I didn't watch, but seasons that would not have existed if they had just shut down production when MJF left.

True. But it didn't do well with him, either.

    I don't think AK is a d-bag.
He produces d-baggy type shows and has made a fortune doing it, but personally I don't think too badly of him.
He has parlayed a one joke character into a pretty sweet production company IMO.
He may play dumb on occasion but I think he is smart and canny.

Seems to be official. CBS has posted confirmation on the show's Facebook fan site.

Looks like I'll be dropping my season pass...can't stand AK.

I've been a big fan of Kutcher since his days as Kelso on That 70's Show. I think he'll do fine on 2.5 Men. My main issue is how they're going to write him in. Obviously, he's not going to be "Charlie Harper," so the real question will be how well do they integrate his character into the ongoing plot of the show, or will the audience just be asked to accept something ridiculous.

I don't think Chuck Lorre is that stupid. I also think that if that was his intention, he would have hired someone age appropriate.

Like leeherman, I am not at all a fan of AK. I've been dragging my feet deleting the SP I have for this show - looks like just the encouragement to get me to finally do it.

And much more than how they write AK into this thing, I'd be a LOT more interested in finding out how they write Sheen/Charlie out. I wonder if people are sitting around trying to figure out the most outrageous, humiliating way in which Charlie could have died (and as I type that, the thought of auto-erotic asphyxiation crossed my mind). They've shown in the past that they aren't necessarily averse to crossing the PC line before!

Of course, I won't know (aside maybe from reading about it here).

    This.

And in his movies, he plays much more than just dumb.
I'm not a big Ashton Kutcher fan, but I'm interested in how this'll work out. I'll be watching.
