Interesting! I guess that's why he doesn't have the mechanical hand anymore.

I've got one more free month of STARZ and Showtime and this is the first show that has me considering a paid subscription.

I liked it a lot. I don't know how well it's going to do amongst people who don't have the same nostalgic fondness for Ash, Bruce, and the camerawork/effect style - because that's where a lot of the enjoyment came from. It may or may not stand on it's own. But I'm certainly looking forward to more, and would probably binge watch it if that were an option.

Well at least we know we will get two seasons out of it. Since they had renewed it for a second season before the Premiere.

I own all three on DVD. IIRC, the real value was in the commentary track. You get to hear Bruce and Sam Raimi discuss what it was like to make the original, the techniques used, the scene that caused the female audience to get up and leave the test screening, etc.

An NC-17 rating seems overkill given today's standards.

The series premiere was everything I'd hoped it would be. It felt like the atmosphere was positioned somewhere between ED2 and Army of Darkness. Not quite as serious as ED2, not quite as silly as AoD.

Bruce is the latest interviewee on Chris Hardwick's Nerdist podcast, and it's incredibly entertaining hearing him talk. Fun fact: Bruce and Sam went to high school together and did the morning announcements.

That isn't always a guarantee. HBO renewed "The Brink" for a second season, while the first season was airing. Just like a week or two, they canceled the show. No second season after all.

I know this show is on Starz, but it could happen.

Yes, it was unrenewed last week.

Not sure I've ever seen that happen...

It's happened before. I remeber in the 90's the show SUperman: Lois and Clark. TBS or some network signed a syndication deal and it was renewed for another year or two. But then for some reason ABC cancelled it after it had been renewed.

I remember a deal being announced for Farscape renewal, and then Farscape was canceled. Don't remember the specifics of it, only that fans were really pissed.

In "shows only I watched" land, 'Matador' on El Rey also had its second-season renewal revoked.

I was all set to watch this then discovered Starz is a paid channel. I guess I'll call and see what offer they make me but I can't see paying more than $5 extra a month for this.

Wait until the season is over, pay for one month and binge watch the show. I think it is only a 30 minute show. So, it should take too long to watch.

    Ash vs Evil Dead? It's a standard one-hour show (i.e., 42-43 minutes).

I heard somewhere it is a 30 minute show. I see episode 1 was like 45 minutes, but episode 2 is only 35 minutes.
