Are you having Connection Interuption When trying to update?

    I was having this issue since Mid December. Couldn't get the latest update and couldn't get program updates recently. Long story short after much troubleshooting I did find the problem. I have a Cisco RVS4000 Router and it has IPS (security Protection). Turns out the latest IPS update was now seeing Tivo Connections as intrusions because of the funky 80, 8000, and 8080 ports tivo likes to use, there for killing my connection to them. The current solution is to disable IPS on the router which I don't like because its one of the nice features I bought it for. I also think it may be what causes some of the hickups I was seeing recently on the Tivo. I hope this helps someone out. If you are having issues and have a router with IPS Security features, try disabling it and see if your problems go away. Now how do we fix these slow HD menus???
