Subject says it all... Does TiVo continue to support the apps library on the Roamio platform?

Is there a commitment to adding new apps as they become more relevant and popular? Is there a commitment to update the existing apps?

I agree... I used to have a Roku (early generation), an AppleTV (early generation), a Fire TV Stick and a Chromecast... Way too many ways to get to the same apps.

I found that I loved not having to switch inputs, and just stay with my TiVo Roamio, even though the apps (specifically, the Hulu app) seemed to be getting a little stale, and with slower performance. Convenience wins (generally speaking).

I have since sold all of my set-top boxes (mostly because they were all getting old). At the moment I have a Fire Stick TV 4K (bought during Prime Day) and a Chromecast.

I can also hit a subset of apps via my Roamio (still), as well as my new LG OLED smart tv interface (though it is also limited in selection...no CBSAA, no HBONow, etc...).

I am thinking about getting the top of the line Roku for the wireless headset functionality (so that I don't have to disturb my wife at 1am!).

It would be great if TiVo continued to update and add apps to their library though. As I said, convenience generally wins in my household.

The Roku Ultra works well. It has wired headphones.

I agree. I've been a TiVo user for three years and they've never added any new apps. I hate having to switch to a different device to stream other content.

Such a shame that the answer is, Get a Roku device. :( A TiVo with Roku tech. built in would be nice. :)

Oops...my bad... Wired headphones, but wired to the wireless remote... Which makes the solution somewhat wireless from the base unit... I heard it works fantastic!
