IMO Plex DVR and channels dvr is just as good as my TiVo’s are too and I can use one STB now. But it’s definitely for the tinkerer type. Not the average tv watcher. But you are right, TiVo is still better than the fios boxes. I’m only staying with fios for tv too like you because without the equipment fees my bill isn’t too bad with them. Just the one cable card fee. I might add a second cable card too and add a second homerun prime, I have two of them but only use one right now. My bill would be almost the same if I switched to YouTube TV and dropped fios tv service for one of the streaming tv services.

Exact same issue for me. On a monthly basis I would probably end up paying more going with one of the live streaming services After adding the premium channels I want.

As you may know, Verizon struck an agreement earlier this year to sell YouTube TV to Verizon customers, saying that they would offer "unique, high-value YouTube TV promotions to customers across platforms". They had already been selling YouTube TV to their new Verizon 5G Home broadband customers but are now also selling and billing YouTube TV to their FiOS and Wireless customers.

I'm betting that one of those promotions they'll soon offer for bundling YouTube TV with Verizon service will be a free customized streaming device to connect to your TV for watching the YouTube TV service (and maybe also accessing other services that Verizon bundles for certain customers, like Disney+ and Apple Music). Back in July, it was found that Verizon had submitted a TV streaming device called "Stream TV" for FCC approval. Most likely, it'll run Google's Android TV Operator Tier software, with a Verizon-customized home screen. Being able to offer cable TV customers a customized streaming box and remote to go along with YouTube TV will make it an easier transition for them from FiOS TV, which I don't think Verizon cares that much about any more.

This certainly can't be considered 'VALUE' for all!!!! Decisions and 'VALUE' require 'INDIVIDUAL ASSESSMENT' - If you're a TiVo CableCARD user there very well could be a time when an alternative could be considered a "VALUE' BUT I don't believe it's 'RIGHT NOW'!!! I don't believe you can legitimately argue my point either!!!!

NG doesn't 'KNOW' either!! More of his WAG/Speculation and there's still no assurance it would be of 'VALUE' for a current FiOS TV subscriber!!

Much depends on a 'persons' individual needs and what the individual/subscriber considers 'VALUE'!!

I forgot all about this. I wonder what the cost is to bundle it in with my fios internet.

Interesting that I have not received any marketing material from Verizon on this

Only a WAG but assuming you're a FiOS TV subscriber now it wouldn't be unusual to be presented an 'offfer' only after you maybe made a call to 'cancel/quit' service. If you've TiVo device(s) now and are happy there's much I'd think to consider before any switch!!!

So far, they haven't offered any discount on the ongoing YTTV price -- it's still the same $50 if bundled with any Verizon service. The only perks I've heard about so far is that for some customers (maybe new FiOS customers?), they get a one-month free trial of YTTV instead of the standard one week. For Verizon 5G Home customers, though, since that service launched they've offered 3 free months of YTTV plus a free Apple TV 4K or Chromecast Ultra. Once their own Stream TV device launches, though, I expect they'll offer that instead of the free device from Apple or Google. I can also see them offering the Stream TV to those who bundle YTTV with FiOS because right now there's not much reason to bundle it other than a unified bill.
