Anyone successfully upgraded Series 2 with WD Green (AV or Regular) drive lately?

Some have said these drives won't boot in a Series 2, presumably because of the Intellipark feature. If Intellipark is modified or disabled with the WDIdle3 utility floating around, does that take care of the problem?

Ask your question in this thread

It's in the S3 section, but it has expanded beyond it's original purpose and is the go-to place for hard drive questions.

Give them your exact TiVo model number, and model numbers of whatever drives you are considering.

I found the discussion in the thread on PATA/SATA adapters to be pretty useful.

I have a WD5000AADS (WD 500GB Caviar Green) in a 540x. Quiet as a church mouse and about three degrees Celsius cooler than it was with the previous 200GB Seagate DB35.3 PATA drive.
