I still am ruinning a Sony series 1 with lifetime subscription. Other than a blown modem, no problems with it at all. I suppose if the unit ever does die, I'll try to get a series 2 or 3 if they will let me transfer the lifetime subscription under some type of special.

    Anybody else running series 1?

I have a Series 1 phillips I'm still using. Actually, I just gave it to my parents because for some reason the Series 1 will work with their AT&T U-Verse but neither one of their Series 2 machines would. But it's still alive and going strong!

I have the Sony with lifetime. Well, I gave it to my FiL earlier this year and he's running it. I put a 160Gb hard drive in it not long before I gave it to him.

    I now run D* boxes - 1 x HR10-250 and 2 x HR20s, but I still get Shannan's emails ;)

No, I don't like "you" out there (where is "there" anyhow?). But, then, I don't know you.

Is this a new show? When is it on?
Why is this in 'now playing' and not 'coffee house'?

    Hell yeah..

Sony SVR-2000.(lifetime) Modem works fine. But I swapped out the original hard drive for a larger one a few years ago.

I have a Phillips S1 which I recently dropped the service on. I transferred the lifetime to an S3 a year ago and dropped service when the year free extension ran out. I acquired an S2 for my daughter's stuff. I decided that if I am going to pay a service fee, I want TTG, Online Scheduling and all that other stuff.

I have a Sony Series 1, bought 2 months too late to be grandfathered in with it's Lifetime. Added a 120 gig hard drive about 4 years ago and other than a blown modem like the OP, it's been running fine since I got it.

I've considered upgrading when I could've transferred the lifetime service, but it does what I want as it is. I have no desire for all the whiz bang features that have been added except maybe folders. So, I'm keeping it till it dies.

I'm using a Philips Series 1 with lifetime. I've upgraded it with a pair of 120 GB drives and the network card. I want to get a series 3 but keep putting it off because I hate dealing with Comcast. I'm using a MCE box to record HD programs in the meantime.

My Sony SAT-T60 (Series 1 DirecTivo) is still running, albeit with an upgraded hard drive as the bearings in the original drive were going out.

I forgot to say I remember exactly when my SVR-2000 went into service. It was the morning of Tuesday 11th September 2001 that i was performing the guided setup!

I use a series one Tivo for the 4dtv c-band satellite dish.

Tivo doesn't offer program listings for c-band, so there's no point in arranging for service for it.

I have two series ones. A sony and a phillips and two series one DTivo for good measure. I have never owned a series two. I jumped right over them and bought a series 3.

2 S1s.. one is currently unplugged.. the other is being used only for a few things while I record most on my S3 & TivoHD.. both of which I got *because* I could transfer lifetime.. so the bait worked for me. I'm currently recording analog the vast majority of the time (and a VERY few rare manual-QAM recordings).. at basic quality even.

The TivoHD was a great deal (~$450, including lifetime transfer). I feel slightly more annoyed about the S3 since lifetime is not as rare/gone as it seemed to be.. but I guess that's somewhat caveat emptor.

Our S1 has been upgraded twice, and has been in continuous use since March 2000. I recently upgraded to a TiVoHD and now the S1 is for the kids. 100+ hours of Pokemon, baby!

I'm just about to decommission my Sony series 1 in favor of a homebrew HD/DTV DVR. It's been great for some half a decade, with the occasional hard drive upgrade.

I have a Series 2 with lifetime subscription (I think) that I'm not using. My old series one with no service is sitting in my downstairs closet.

The reason I say 'I think' is I can't remember if I transfered the lifetime subscription to my Series 3.

As an aside... Why is this topic in the Now Playing forum?
