any way to watch your bolt on a TV set outside of your house?

    just got a new Bolt and it has no way to connect a slingbox which are discontinued anyway
    seems like technology is regressing here. My slingboxes worked perfectly for this with all my Tivos until the bolt. then slingboxes were discontinued. then the latest model M2 slingboxes stopped working on a windows 10 PC.
    now I am using a older model slingbox on my backup Tivo premier . once either one of these devices dies thats it, and the premier is 7 years old :(

    tivo online is a partial solution, but only for viewing on a PC, not a TV. I will try to see if tivo online works on my Amazon Fire TV on its nifty silk browser on my tv set. if so, that should also work outside my house, if only for some recorded shows

    There have been reports of folks setting up a VPN so that a Mini or other box "thinks" its on the home network.

    Tivo online, I believe, is limited to in-home. Amazon fire tv has been used in the past by folks, including me, which was a poor experience, not sure if sideloading the Android app would work for that as it used to.

    Get a Mini (not Vox) and connect to your Slingbox.

    by "outside my home" I mean hundreds of miles away, not in my backyard :)

    my M2 slingbox requires red blue green component connections, along with red yellow audio. my Roamio had these ports, I don't see them on a mini, even the non-vox

    wow, I was not aware of this breakout kit. the link says "for bolt or mini". where does it plug into the bolt?
    if I can just use it on my bolt I won't need a mini, I'll just hook up my slingbox to the bolt. I have a 3 tb bolt vox. don't think this will work on it

    and if I need an older mini, does that have an IR that the slingbox will use?
    doesn't appear so, so this will not work with a slingbox


    it seems the bolt vox has the IR but no way of connecting the breakout kit, and the mini has a connection for the breakout kit but no IR :(

    An A93 Mini has the composite/component ability and has RF remote ability.

    Everything has IR ability.

    I googled that A93 mini and saw used ones sold on Amazon from 3rd party. Anyone sell new ones?

    I'm wary of spending $159 on a used discontinued product

    I bought a new A93 on eBay about 6 months ago. They were starting to get hard to find back then.

    If you're not in a hurry, used ones pop up occasionally in the marketplace forum here.

    A few years ago, I got lucky and was able to pick up several Minis from Woot for $69 a pop.

    I've been using component from my Mini to my Slingbox for a few years now. It's been very reliable.

    Besides Joe's link, new ones are hard to find. If I were buying right now, I'd go for this one,

    Since Mini's have no moving parts, odds of failure are pretty low. I have a ton of Tivo hardware but have never bought any of it new. It's all still going strong.

    If the pictures are accurate, remember the logo. The RF model has a centered logo.

    Hahaha... I sure would!!

    I’m also traveling this week, and watching the Yankee game in my hotel room on my iPad last night via the TiVo app was fantastic.

    I should try an HDMI Out connector to the hotel room tv ...
