Cleaning my attic, I found a NIB Humax S2 140 hr. unit. This was a purchase from Sam's over a year ago promotion where, after rebate, you actually made $ (+ any referral points) on each unit. Fairly confident that this unit was subbed for 30 days (to get the rebate & referral) and then shut off.

Does the unit have any value in today's marketplace? I would think not. Maybe the HDD, cables, remote, etc. have a value. I guess eBay would determine if there was a value.

Ya, eBay. Toss it up for 1c + shipping, and see what it gets.

    Neither...
I would say save it for next Christmas, and include a TiVo gift card with it.

Did the Humax have a built-in dvd burner?

A 'no strings attached' S2 has value to anyone who is still getting the 6.95 rate MSD and they have a box failing.

I'm keeping at least one of my S2s around, just in case.

No value what so ever. I would just send it to me at your cost because I am going to recycle it for you. Think of it as a recycle charge. Let me know where to send you my mailing address.
