The comcast conversion of 1080i to 720p at 59.94 frame rate gives me fits. I can't seem to convert it to anything with a lower frame rate that won't give media players a heart attack. Everything I've tried screws up the audio sync at a minimum, and often screws up the video as well. Anyone have a nice ffmpeg command they use to convert this stuff to something with a more manageable frame rate?

Answering my own question, I finally tried this (which I think just throws away every other frame, but it still looks OK):

    ffmpeg -i infile.ts -r 30000/1001 outfile.mp4

The important bit is that the audio is still in sync in the resulting file.

I don't understand why you want to lower the frame rate?
