It's good to see Katee Sackoff back in space. The series seems good so far but I'm only five minutes into the second episode. One thing I can say, though: Worst crew ever!

I don't think any of the science makes sense and the drama seems contrived so far but I am a sucker for a first contact scifi story.

Science: I missed how fast they are traveling but I guess many times the speed of light, since only 3.5 months to reach a star, but no stars are closer than 4.22 light years. Not sure if they will be true to life and make the people on the ship age much slower than those on earth. If they are that far, how are they communicating in real time with people on Earth.

Fake drama: why doesn't some of the crew know each other until they wake up? You'd think they'd spend at least a couple of days getting ready before being put in hibernation. The lead person on Earth for the other crew seems unnecessarily bitchy with every suggestion and experiment.

Just starting episode six. Yeah, the science makes little sense, the constantly bitchy female communications expert should have been spaced out of an airlock in every episode so far and they are extremely stupid, careless planetary explorers. But I'm still watching and I still like it.

Gotta take the (bad) science with the fiction.

They're obviously using the same mode of transportation that Jack used to get from one side of LA to the other on 24.

Yeah it's just filler Sci-Fi to watch while waiting for better shows (The Expanse) to return and to watch Katee Sackhoff be badass. Humans have the ability to travel at least 18x the speed of light, but in every other field seem to only a little more advanced than today.

Ive never seen a group of people who are all young and fit and handsome. It looks like the Swedish olympic team. But as has been stated , any sci-fi to fill the void. Compare this to Battlestar...

Katee Sackhoff is just such a horrible actress...how is a ship like that not crewed by military people?

let's take our visor off on a strange planet! let's bring an alien plant that we KNOW alters our minds! The secretary of defense is leading a SWAT team! his son is more important than the entire planet!

Jesus...this is competing with Under the Dumb/Dome...but I'm this far in (9 episodes) so I guess I'll finish it and then kill myself for watching this :p

This show was.... Not good. I got to part way into episode 2 and even the eye candy couldn't keep me watching.

if you're only 2 episodes in and you're not impressed, I'd say go ahead and bail. Not sure what eye candy you're talking about. Katee does show her behind in one scene but I don't consider her eye candy. Even if you're into guys, there's not much there either. Stupid just isn't very attractive ;)

Agreed. Yet I persist. Why the 3 way? Is it some sort of character development or plot device? The constant acceptance of ludicrous things... Why was a little girl present at the site of an alien landing? Didn't her babysitter ever hear the command " don't let her out of your site"??

Alien planet, so let's just take no precautions (even though we almost just died from an alien virus) and sniff everything, eat strange stuff, don't worry when injured, and leave a party member alone. What could possibly go wrong?

This show is so bad as to be unwatchable. How could they possibly find writers so ignorant of basic science and human relationships? It was worse than "Pandora", and I thought that had set a new low water mark! This series makes "Under the Dome" look like high art! A bright first grader could write a better story!

I thought Pandore was worse. Only lasted 2 on that.

I got through two and a half before I gave up on "Pandora". I had lower expectations for it because it's a CW SF show, everybody acts twelve years old in those shows as a matter of course, but "Pandora" didn't even make an effort.

Netflix has some good SF and was flogging "Another Life" as if it were in the same category, so I had greater expectations of it. Upon reflection, if you want to say "Pandora" is worse I'll not disagree. I'm not going watch either one of them so it's kind of a moot point.

I was gonna watch this, but after reading this thread I'm out. Too many other good shows to watch.

With nothing else to watch, it wasn't that bad. I mean, all the criticisms above are fair. Although some of them are not so much random oversights, as deliberate plot points (Old and Experienced vs Young and Reckless) that were just painful to watch, or as eventually-will-make-sense plot points at only sorta did make sense later (at least they tried). it's no BSG, but I'm still glad I watched it.

I can deal with bad science in a fictional show. All the Marvel movies I watch and love are pretty much as science dumb. I recognize bad science and just roll with it. It's science fiction. Bad relationship drama is what drags me down and this series was full of it. Like I said in the opening post, this was the worst crew ever. But still, I watched the whole thing in the course of two and a half days and I'll probably watch season 2 if there is one. I'd give it 2.5 out of 5 stars.
