Just isn't quite the same witout Kamakzie and his insightful comments. :-(

I'm looking forward to another fun filled year of frivolity and mirth. :)

I know the judges touted him, but I really wasn't impressed with James Durbin. Plus I'm sure I saw a part where he was lipsyncing. Perhpas his medical issue was at hand and they let him lipsync the night?

My favorite is Stefano but he was not the best of the night. That one sharp note killed it. I think he's on the bubble. So many good ones tonight, even Durbin who I am not a fan of. Judas Priest on Idol? Seriously? LOL Kudas on that alone. Best of the night got the deserved pimp spot. That was crazy good. Casey is still not sexy but he's charming and talented as all get out so that's good enough for me. So my order of performances would be:

    1. Casey
    2. Paul
    3. Stefano
    4. James
    5. Jacob
    6. Clint
    7. Scotty
    8. Tim
    9. Robbie
    10. Brett
    11. Jovany
    12. Jordan

Who I think will go through:
Casey, Scotty, James, Paul are IMO definitely going. The other would be a toss up between Jacob, Stefano and possibly Brett and Robbie. I just can't pick who I think America will want in that final spot.

FWIW Lambert tweeted about James's performance-
I thought James did a great job.
I also liked Paul, Casey, and thought Jacob managed to restrain himself enough to get through.

I was pretty surprised at how the stand outs so obviously stood out.
For me, I think James, Scotty, Paul, and Jacob are no brainers to get through and have hopes that Casey will as well.
    Those would be my five.

^ Hopes that Casey will? I think of anyone in this competition him and Scotty are the two biggest definite. I didn't think anyone even questioned Casey making it in. :)

Interestingly enough, DialIdol has only 1 prediction of safe and that's Scotty.

Yeah, it looks like I'm in the minority in thinking that he might be going home. I do have him on the bubble though. Even if America does send him home, he'd probably get a wildcard spot. I don't think he is bad and it would be interesting to see how he does with other genres of music. I just hope they don't waste a wildcard on Brett if it comes to that.

Wildcards should be reserved for Jacob, James, and Casey. The rest don't really matter. Sure, there are some that didn't have a great night, one of those will be in the final this year.

Casey will be on Broadway next year...

This isn't like the judge's save they had last year. This is this Thursday, they will announce the top (I think) 13, which will be made up of the 5 male contestants with the most votes, the 5 female contestants with the most votes, and 3 other contestants chosen by the judges.

I think it's top 13. It could be 12 or 14. But the point is that there is a set number of contestants we will see next week who will be chosen by the judges rather than by voters. So if your top 3 get voted in, the judges will still need to use the wild card for other people.

Also, I don't know if there are gender restrictions on the wild card choices.

I think his style could easily go over the heads of younger viewers.
    There are not.

I'm a country fan...and I'd buy Scotty's album tomorrow. Gotta love that voice.

There were some meh performances, but definitely miles (overall) ahead of past years.

well first of all I admit I am looking at their fotos because i can't remember most of their names.

Casey, Jacob and James did good - although Jacob was a little frightening to watch with all the camera mugging.

I also like Paul from previous performances not so much last night and - damn I got vertigo watching that performance - standstill for cryin out loud.

The rest? all infinity fast forwardable.

    Scotty. I loathe his singing.
He reminds me of a mature chicken little.

Scotty can't win and country music isn't my thing, but he's going to make more money as a singer than any of these other guys.

Kind of boring, but overall, better than some previous years. McCreery seems pretty good.

Yeah, I thought Casey was one of those too-old-to-make-the-show-but-so-weird-that-we'll-show-him-anyway people when I first saw him. And since hearing him sing in that audition, I've been a big fan, but I didn't see that coming with him at all.
