The longer sanjaya stays, the more I think about that lame movie American Dreamz. I think that's how you spell it.

katbug made an interesting point, by stating she didn't want to see these six women go:
Yet, since next week, we will be down to six females, and it appears that Antonella will always be in it to win it, which one of the above six won't be around for the Final 12?

The six women I don't want to see go are:

    LaKisha
    Melinda
    Antonella
    Sundance
    Hailey
    Sabrina

Oops, I meant Gina, not Hailey

LOL. American Idol has broken one of the key reality show rules. When a contestant has a baby and they show the contestant saying how much they miss their baby, they have to fly the wife and baby out for the next episode.

Also i'll add this. Why after America has voted for their favorite singers do they take the least favorite one and let them sing AGAIN?
I want to hear an encore of what most people thought was the best singer. They should just show the video montage of the person kicked off and be done with it. Instead of saying "Hey you just lost a national popularity contest, now get out on stage and sing to all of those people, a majority of which would rather hear someone else sing"

I don't want Gina or Hailey to go, but I don't expect Hailey to make it too far up the ladder though.

By the way, one of the women I do want to see go (and badly) is: Sanjaya. :p

I don't know, but you're definitely right. At least one of them is gone. However, Lakisha and Melinda (the two favorites) are clearly safe unless they forget their words and start picking their noses on stage.

Heck, they'd STILL be better than Antonella...

Part of the allure of American Idol is the naked cruelty. Making the voted-off person sing again is akin to "dance, monkey, dance."

Of course, they'll say it's about giving the contestant one last time to shine, etc.

BTW, anyone else think Chris Daughtry wrote that "Home" song just so Idol could use it?

Sanjaya will keep advancing. What is there now, something like 4 billion east Indians on the planet? Capture .0001% of that vote and he's the new AMERICAN IDOL.

You know I was thinking the same thing. Plus with his singing and looks, he would fit right in as a Bollywood actor.

Back on the making the least popular singer perform topic. It would be akin to a television station getting its Neilson ratings and re-running the lowest rated show the next week.

if that happens, they would have to cancel the show because too many people would stop watching.

Oh snap, with VoIP, all of India could mess with the phone system and cast a vote!

And everyone in India works in tech support, so that should be easy for them to figure out.

re. Blake: I like him despite the beat-boxing, and appreciate that he only brings it out occasionally. I'm not at all into that style, but think he used it perfectly when he did use it. It's his voice that I was surprised and blown away by.

I really liked Leslie's voice, but get kinda weirded out by her look combined with her voice. Not sure why...anyone have any guesses? My sister's having the same reaction and we can't figure out why.

I agree about the inhumanity of making them perform one last time before they leave. Not the unfairness to them, but to us, the viewers. Hello? If we didn't vote for them, chances are that we didn't enjoy the performance the first time...why should we have to listen to it again?! If they have to have one last chance to shine, they should pick their best song throughout the competition.

In all the years of watching AI, I never laughed as hard as I did at the "just shoes" comment.

I love Kelly, but she looked like she was trying to become Dolly (the boobs, hair, shoes, etc.). I don't know if she got a boob-job or not though, she could have come by them with the rest of the weight she gained. I miss the old Kelly! :0(

When you figure it out let me know - I was having the same problem. Something in the expression on her face, like her eyes were always dilated or something...

I also liked Leslie's voice, and I'm kind of a sucker for an 'under-bite', which she has. That's kind of unusual (I think) and that may be what looks a little off.

I'm not a fan of chest "enhancements", but I am a fan of female backsides, and I thought Kelly's was just fine.

    OK, maybe TMI. ;)

    scott savol
    kelly pickler
    kevin covais
    jon stevens

i think they have some pull

antonella definitely makes it into the final 12... i bet she makes it to the top 9...

she's bound to have ONE good week that will carry her for another 2...
